Infrastructure sustainability assessments
Assessing sustainability in the construction sector requires considering a broad set of criteria, from material selection and construction methods to long-term performance and environmental impact. At C3S, we develop and apply multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) tools to support this process, ensuring that infrastructure solutions are evaluated in terms of their alignment with the three pillars of sustainability: environmental, economic, and social.
We rely primarily on MIVES (Integrated Value Model for Sustainability Assessments), a decision-making methodology that allows for objective comparison of alternatives and integrates both expert knowledge and stakeholder priorities. Our team builds tailored evaluation models for infrastructure projects, helping design and engineering teams select optimal materials, technologies, and construction strategies from the earliest planning phases.
To reinforce the sustainability assessment, we are specializing in LCA, including environmental LCA (E-LCA), social LCA (S-LCA) and Life Cycle Costing (LCC).
Sustainability assessments for urban development and public decision-making
Public administrations and urban planners are increasingly required to justify their decisions in terms of sustainability, transparency, and social impact.
