Ana Blanco is reader in Advanced Construction Materials and Methods at Loughborough University. Her research bridges innovative material technologies with sustainable construction and repair methods. She has led interdisciplinary projects on regenerative self-healing systems and novel methods for repair of ageing railway infrastructure; driving original, science-led innovations into practical solutions that enhance durability, reduce maintenance, and ensure the resilience civil infrastructure.

·Fibre reinforced cementitious materials (UHPC, FRC)
· Sustainable and regenerative materials (low carbon concrete and self-healing)
·Infrastructure repair technologies
·Novel production methods and digital fabrication (3DCP).”
She is also editor of the Journal “Construction and Building Materials”, co-chair of the organising committee of the 3rd RILEM International Conference on Concrete and Digital Fabrication (DC2022) and editor of DC2022 Conference Proceedings (2022), member of the UK Young Academy (2023-2028), member of Women’s Engineering Society, member of the Institute of Concrete Technology and chartered engineer and member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
