Within the C3S research group we perform full-scale testing of all types of concrete elements such as beams, slabs, columns, walls, tunnel linings, produced from different types of concretes (with SCMs and recycled aggregates) and reinforced with different types of reinforcements (fibers, FRP bars, textile) and tested for different aspects of ultimate limit state behavior (flexure, shear, punching, fatigue, fire resistance) and serviceability limit state behavior (deflections, cracking, vibrations).

Beside experimental characterization, the members of the C3S research group also work on the design of concrete structures. For this purpose, advanced non-linear finite element analyses (NLFEA) are employed for various purposes. We also actively participate in the development of design codes (prEN1992, fib Model Code 2020) through constitutive model derivations and partial factor calibrations.
