We are dedicated to spearheading global research efforts in the critical fields of sustainability
The C3S research group is based at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain. Our objective is to achieve full circularity of the concrete construction industry considering all three pillars of sustainability using experimental, analytical and numerical methods and approaches.
We are dedicated to spearheading global research efforts in the critical fields of sustainability of cement-based materials and structures and the digitalization and sensorizing of the built environment.

C3S group awarded ERA-MIN 3 project Recycl3D
On December 16, C3S group was awarded an ERA-MIN 3 project. Together with partners from Italy, Portugal, Poland, the US and Brazil, C3S members will work on the project Recycl3D investigating the use of fine recycled aggregates in 3D printed concretes!
C3S group awarded research project SENSOCRETE 3D within Spanish Strategic Lines Call
In November 2021, C3S group was awarded a research project within the call of the Spanish Ministry for Science and Innovation on the topic of smart building technologies. The project SENSOCRETE 3D, to be carried out jointly with CIM UPC and Escofet, will focus on developing 3D printed concretes reinforced with steel fibers sensorized for active monitorization.
